Every year, the Eagle Field Foundation participates in public events to educate and promote the Mission of the Foundation. The following are some of the major events where our displays can be viewed and experienced ‘hands-on’.
Eagle Field Fly-In & Dinner Dance
Eagle Field comes alive with this spectacular event where the Veterans and the Vehicles & Aircraft are in the spotlight! This is a legacy of honor, courage, and of a country of Americans that put their differences aside, and joined as one to overcome the twentieth century’s greatest crisis. Help us honor war heroes of all generations by keeping their memories alive. This is a wonderful event that will allow you to imagine walking in your heroes footsteps, by seeing the things that they saw, hearing the things that they heard, and touching the things that they touched. Veterans and Guests are encouraged to wear period costumes and uniforms. Dinner, an auction, and dancing to a large swing band.
Galt Independence Day Parade
Join us as we display our unique military vehicles in this annual parade in Galt, California during the 4th of July week. This fun-filled two-day event begins with a free community BBQ at the Galt Best Western Inn where visitors can enjoy the company of military veterans and our re-enactors as well as view our parade vehicle display by getting in our vintage military vehicles to experience the true feeling of what it was like ‘behind the wheel’. The event will tentatively take place on June 29th/30th. More information and a link will be posted here in the upcoming months.
Join the Eagle Field Foundation at one of the most popular classic car show in the Bay Area where up to 300 colorful classic and cool cars will gather in the beautiful historic Saratoga village along Big Basin Way. Classy food, tasty beer & wine from local wineries and breweries, craft & automobile vendors, and a live band in the center of town all add up to a fun-packed day for people of all ages.
Spirit of 45′
Step back in time as Spirit of 45′ Bay Area transports you back to August 1945 when America’s greatest generation celebrated their greatest day; the victory of WWII. This fun-filled event is held annually at San Jose’s infamous Kelly History Park. The EFF provides a large military vehicle display complete with reenactors for this special event.
Reid-Hillview Airport Open House
The annual Reid-Hillview Airport open house in San Jose, California is featuring Science-Technology-Engineering-Aviation-Math displays for youths including airplanes, classic cars, restored military vehicles & displays, r/c airshow, drone cage, food and live music. The Eagle Field Foundation participates with the Santa Clara County Roads & Airports Department to make this event an educational and hands-on fun event for youth and adults.
Gatsby Summer Afternoon Picnic
Every year in September the Art Deco Society of California hosts several hundred aficionados of the 1920’s and 30’s as they step back to a time when elegance was a way of life. At the Gatsby Summer Afternoon, the panoramic front lawn of the historic Dunsmuir Hellman House becomes the stage on which every participant dresses in vintage daywear styles of the era. They play, picnic, sip champagne, and dance; the Charleston and Fox Trot is all the rage. It is reminiscent of a scene from the famous 1925 novel – The Great Gatsby by F. Scott Fitzgerald.
The Eagle Field Foundation will be featuring the LRDG (Long Range Desert Group) vehicles at this event along with our re-enactors who will be dressed to portray the era that raged with history!
Honor on The Row
Hosted by the Eagle Field Foundation, ‘Honor on the Row’ will be a continuing tribute at Santana Row, following the San Jose Parade. There will be a display of vintage military vehicles, antique cars, historical displays and various vendors offering services and information about veteran organizations. It is a family friendly event where kids and adults can get in and take pictures with military vehicles! There will also be featured stage entertainment from the Veterans Opera and Swing Dancers.
This event is free and open to the public.
